Since my husband and I got together, Valentine’s Day has become one of my favorite holidays.
He has always worked hard to make it a special day for me, so I have really come to look forward to it. He pays attention to the things I say and surprises me with the sweetest little gifts, and we always go out for a special candlelight dinner. Given the current state of things, it’s safe to say that this year’s Valentine’s Day will be unlike any before it — but that doesn’t mean that it has to be any less special.
In this week’s post, I’ll outline three super cute ways that you can spend Valentine’s Day with your significant other (or yourself + your animals!) at home!
Whether or not you consider yourself to be an especially good cook, working together on a home cooked meal is a really fun way to show each other how much you care.
Ned is the cook in our household, and he always picks reasonable but amazingly yummy recipes to make, and I always feel super fancy eating it on our nice plates over candlelight!
Next up, we have a movie night featuring snacks, wine, and cozy snuggles! Ned and I have loved watching movies and binging TV together during quarantine.
With this date night idea, I feel that setting the time aside and making it an event would make it fun and different while still staying true to who we are. If you have a large, relatively empty wall in your home, a projector would be a super fun way to step up your movie night game as well!
Finally, we have a laid back date night idea involving takeout from your favorite restaurant, comfy clothes, snacks, and card games!
The key to this idea is to choose games that stimulate conversation between you and your partner. Whenever Ned and I play these types of games, I end up learning something new about him. It’s a super fun way to spend an evening, and we always walk away from it feeling like we know each other even better than we did before.
We may still have a long way to go before this pandemic is over, but I always try to make the best out of the situation handed to me. I hope these ideas help to inspire you to make your Valentine’s Day one to remember.
Make sure to keep an eye out for next week’s post as well — I’ll be sharing some cute outfit ideas to go along with these date night vibes, so you won’t want to miss it.
Thanks so much for reading!!
