When it comes to layering, you really can't beat a good denim jacket. They add the perfect casual touch, and never take away from the rest of the look. While most people think of the classic medium-wash blue when they think of a denim jacket, there are tons of opportunities to be explored by styling denim jackets in different colors. I've been investing in denim jackets sporting all kinds of different colors, so today I wanted to share some of my favorite ways to style them!
Classic blue
This is one of my favorite go-to looks for a lazy day consisting of running errands or hanging out with friends, featuring one of the most-worn pieces in my entire wardrobe! The classic blue denim jacket is super popular becuae it goes with literally everything - it adds an interesting eleent to neutrals, it adds a calming elements to other colors, and it provides a nice solid aspect to counteract prints. I love the way that you can dress the look up or down - like I did in this look with my favorite pair of biker shorts and FILA sneakers!
Off-white
I've mentioned on my Instagram feed multiple times that I absolutely love Fred Meyer - they're my favorite place to shop for groceries, and they have surprisingly great clothing and shoe options available! (Talk about one-stop shopping, am I right?) I grabbed this oversized off-white denim jacket from my local Fred Meyer for less than $10,and I absolutely love it. The fit is super flattering, and it instantly adds a fun 80's vibe to any outfit that it is incorporated into! I paired it with a simple black crop top and blue jeans to compliment the simplicity of the jacket, and added some flair through my neutral dalmatian print shoes and glasses. My mom was a huge fashionista in the 80's, and I really feel like this look would make her proud!
Green
Sometimes, simple is just better. This khaki green jacket is one of my favorite pieces to add to striped tops and dresses, but this is definitely my favorite way to wear it. I love that the look is neutral yet eye-catching thanks to the bright white top and shoes, edgy distressed black jeans, and coordinating gummy sole detail on the shoes. I threw on my trusty Gucci belt to add a bit of fanciness to the look, and I couldn't love it more.
Light Pink
While denim jackets are often used to compliment and/or soften edgy styles, I really love adding them to a little black sundress and pears to give the look a more girly feel! I got this super cute, incredibly soft light pink jacket on Amazon, and was really excited to find that it matched one of my favorite Kate Spade crossbody bags perfectly! I added my Steve Madden Kimmies to the look to give it a fun summer vibe, and I was really happy with how it turned out. This is a super easy outfit to grab when you want to run out looking cute without spending a ton of time picking out a bunch of different elements!
Black
Finally, we have a super cute, semi-edgy look featuring my new black denim jacket! I had been wanting a denim jacket in black for a really long time, so I was really excited to find this one on Amazon! It has a slim fit and is sot and flexible, so it is a great piece to grab when I want to layer over a print or other light-colored neutral pieces! I love the way that it works with the cheetah print and the straps of my sandals for this look - safe to say that this is one of my favorite outfits to date!
