Fall has definitely arrived in the Pacific Northwest. The temperature is crisp and cool, and the leaves have started to change color leaving stunning beauty everywhere you look. With the change in temperature, though, we have been seeing quite a bit of the classic PNW misty rain that is typical for the season.
Growing up in a snowy state, I never got a ton of experience styling rain jackets and rain boots, so I thought that I would post some inspo that I have actually channeled in my daily looks so that you can feel cute and stay dry during the rainy fall months!
While 2020 has been an interesting year (to say the least), I would definitely classify it as the year of cheetah print. It made a major comeback last winter, and has been a staple print in my wardrobe throughout the seasons. In this look, I wanted to make this super cute $40 pair of London Fog rain booties the star of the show. They're low top, which gives off a casual look - especially when the print is factored in. To add classy contrast to the look, I paired them with the absolute cutest tie-waist Helly Hansen jacket, a Kendra Scott bracelet, pearl earrings, black skinny jeans, and a taupe turtleneck sweater. I absolutely love the way that the understated colors and hues work in this look, and it is definitely one that I would be excited to wear to brighten up a rainy day!
While the basic color scheme of this look is similar to the last, this look is distinctly different in its laid back, cool girl vibe. This look screams comfy and casual to me, which can be just what I need on a rainy, gray day. These $25 leggings are Amazon best sellers, and I feel like they would add a nice contrast to the over-sized light beige Levis coat that would be worn over top. To keep the color scheme constant, I added the absolute sweet`est pair of Sperry duck boots, a simple yet chic graphic tee, and a black Carhartt beanie to pull it all together.
Finally, I put together a colorful and fun look to offset the grey colors associated with rainy days! I love Hunter boots for rain - they're a definite splurge, but they do an excellent job of keeping my feet warm, comfy, and dry. To play off of the iconic red outline of the brand's logo, I paired them a super feminine red jacket. This jacket is super flattering in the cut, and is nice and long to keep your thighs dry. I also added a pair of pearl earrings for added femininity, blue jeans to neutralize the brighter elements, and a cheetah print band tee for a fun element. I personally like the vibe of the top, but this outfit would also be great with a simple white button up blouse or turtleneck sweater!
